Devabulator v1.4 by infernalproteus Devabulator v1.4 by infernalproteus
Devabulator allows you to select any Category of deviations here on deviantART and displays them in the widget for your viewing pleasure. This version has been enhanced to work with deviantART v6. You can also download deviations and set your desktop wallpaper directly from the widget.

This version fixes a break in Devabulator caused by a change in the feed format about a month ago.
Also added support for the widget dock if you use Konfabulator version 4 or later.
Fixed a problem with the next / previous keys - you can now press n or p to move to the next or previous deviation.

Devabulator requires Konfabulator to run and will only work with versions 3.0 and above. If you don't have Konfabulator, you can download it here: [link]

More details are available on my website here: [link]

Note:
The file linked to this deviation will only work for Konfabulator version 3.1 and 4.x. To download a 3.0 compatible file, please check the downloads section on my website.

Suggestions, feature requests, bug reports or any sort of feedback will be appreciated.

Hmm, I just started it running again and it's back to showing just thumbnails as normal.

I swear I wasn't just dreaming though, it really did go crazy for a couple of days! :P

Anyway, I guess as you say maybe it was just one particular category that threw it off, though I don't know which one I was on.

Thx for the reply anyways, all seems to be good now.

Thank you :D Only way I can produce something worthwhile is by coding it!

As someone said above, Devabulator's the only reason I still have Yahoo widgets running on my PC.

Anyways...in the last couple of days it's gone kind of crazy. It always used to size deviations into thumbnails that fit a fairly small window (save for a few odd-shaped long ones and stuff). However, suddenly it's decided to show deviations full-size, often covering the whole of one of my screens and extending onto the other.

Just wondering if you've pushed an update out to it that's made the changes, or if it's something changed on DA's end of things. Or maybe just a bug that's not popped up before.

Date is 05/06 in case you don't see this message for a while (hope you are still on DA and keeping an eye on this at all ^^ )

Tom,

Thanks for the compliment!

I checked just now and everything seems to be just fine - I'm still seeing the regular sized thumbs. I haven't pushed out any updates, version 1.4 remains the latest; definitely don't want it to be displaying full sized stuff.

Can you tell me what category you were browsing and what offset in that category so I can try to reproduce here? Also, any settings you may have been using. Try selecting another category and let me know if the problems disappear.

Thanks!
Brian.

Wow this is amazing. If you can do this then do you think you can edit one of the widgets I've been trying to work on? [link]
I've been trying to edit this Widget to display Jay Naylor's Better Days [link] . I'm sure it'll only take 5 min to edit but I don't know any java. If you'd take a look at this I'd really appreciate it. Thank you.

Would this work at all with the Mac Dashboard? Or is there a version planned for it? Just wondering, I'd rather not download a whole other utility that I'd only use for this widget.

Great. I've not been using Devabulator for ages because of stability problems, but if those are fixed - brilliant. Always was a great widget.

Btw though: Konfabulator's up to version 4.something now - you say this only works with 3.0 or 3.1? Or will it work with 4?

Tom, great - glad to hear your issues are all fixed :)

I meant 3.1 and above, thanks for pointing it out, I edited and changed the description - I've tested it with version 4 and except for it not accurately detecting key presses (for next and previous deviation) it works fine.

The key press issue is a reported Konfabulator bug, if they fix it in a future version, that should work too.
